Dexter Cattle
We raise registered and polled Dexter cattle which is one of the smallest cattle breeds in the world, standing 40" tall and weighing 700–900 pounds. We chose Dexter cattle for a few reasons:
Their small size is easy on the land
They do well on grass only
They are friendly and easy to manage
Meat portions are reasonable and a whole cow (240-280 lbs of freezer meat) does not require as much freezer space
We sell registered replacement heifers and whole cow finished beef.
Katahdin Sheep
We also raise registered Katahdin hair sheep. We have raised several other breeds of small ruminants and have gravitated towards Katahdins. Here's why:
They are incredibly hardy and require very little if any intervention
They thrive on grass only
Their meat is fantastic and incredibly nutritious with a high content of omega 3 fats
We do sell registered replacement ewes, however, we have focused more on selling finished whole lamb meat recently
